MORE than 50 handmade teddy bears from a far afield as Kuwait, New Zealand and Ireland were auctioned between 29 and 31 October 2004 on our online auction to raise funds for The Red Cross Children's Hospital. This is the only dedicated specialist paediatric hospital in sub-Saharan Africa.

The Red Cross Children's Hospital was built in 1956 and the Hospital itself needs treatment - in fact major surgery! The Hospital is full of brilliant doctors and nurses who make sure ourChildren get the best possible care.

Maintaining a centre of paediatric excellence is costly and The Children's Hospital Trust ensures that one hundred percent of the funding received is utilized for the upgrade of the Hospital.

Over R20,000 was raised through the Bear Relief On-line Auction which will be used for the upgrade and equipping of our new theatres at The Red Cross Children's Hospital.

The Children of Africa deserve the very best in the one centre of excellence in paediatric care dedicated totally to them -- The Red Cross Children's Hospital.
